This medical exhibit consists of four illustrations in exhibit. The first illustration is an anterior cutaway view of the abdomen. Fluid is depicted as leaking from a perforation in the ileum. Include ovaries, tubes and uterus shown in outline and labeled. There is fluid around these reproductive structures showing the feces, leak and inflammation of nearby intestines. The second illustration depicts the partial chevron incision being made in the abdomen as the first step surgery. The third illustration depicts the resection of the perforated intestine. The fourth illustration portrays the creation of the ileostomy.
