Traumatic Pelvis and Sacral Fractures with Surgical Fixation of the Sacrum

This medical exhibit features with one anterior skeletal view of the pelvis illustrating the post-accident condition. This image reveals the vertical fracture of the sacrum and the fractures of the left superior and inferior rami. Two steps of the surgical fixation procedure are included showing the sacrum exposed through a posterior incision with the gluteal muscles retracted as the sacral screws are installed. Finally, one additional skeletal view illustrates the post-operative condition showing the sacral screws in place.
